Accessibility is critical to creating inclusive user experiences, yet many websites fail to meet standards due to gaps in accessibility testing and implementation. In this session, I’ll outline four steps to help teams effectively conduct an accessibility audit in order to ensure their digital products are usable by everyone.
We’ll discuss:
1. Requirements gathering: Understanding user needs, and how to define scope and conformance level.
2. Automated testing: Leveraging tools like Lighthouse and SiteImprove Accessibility Checker to quickly identify violations.
3. Manual testing: An introduction to keyboard testing and screen reader basics using VoiceOver.
4. Reporting: How to translate findings into prioritized recommendations and actionable next steps.
This session is for developers who want to learn more about accessibility testing in order to improve the accessibility of the websites they work on.
