Your traditional 8bit images are starting to look dull on your or modern phone or XDR display. But technical terms like 32bits, High Dynamic Range, 12bit H.265, and Wide Color Gamut can be scary for any digital designer. This presentation will try to make it less intimidating by exploring what these terms mean (without getting too technical), and the competitive rationale for using Wide Color Gamut and HDR images and video on your website. We will then study how to create and distribute them using free software, ensure they are backwards-compatible, and then test them using various devices.
